Very few BASE jumpers can live to tell/narrate, this awesome journey full of adventures and the most important friendships. Excellent.
Awesome book written by a legendary aussie. Great insight for myself and anybody else who is planning on getting into BASE jumping and wingsuit flying. Cheers douggs!
Douggs writes about growing up as a surfer then starting skydiving and quickly progressing to the world of BASE jumping. The structure of the book is a little confusing as it isn’t fully chronological. It has great photographs however this copy prints them in black and white which is less exciting than a colour copy, I imagine. I read this book as a novice skydiver and it really opened my eyes to how different BASE jumping is.
Summary: great book… read about his inspiring adventures and try not to feel jealous haha!
Douggs says it how it is and doesn’t hold back, Every story is brutally honest even when its at his own expense. Written in a true blue Aussie style that had me in stitches mixed into his stories about skydiving, base jumping, partying and the progression of a sport that he played a major pioneering role in.
Very interesting and a great read not to mention a humble and top bloke in person as well.
